Places to Explore

North
The Scottish Borders ie Moffat, Langholm, famous for their woollen mills, Gretna Green and Kielder Dam, the largest man-made lake in Europe.

South
Brampton, Carlisle Cathedral and Castle renowned for its history as a fortress.
Also there is the beautiful Lake District with its many lakes and mountains.

East
To the east there is the famous historic Hadrian's Wall, Vindolands and Housesteads.
Northumberland with its many stately homes, Castles and Museums.

West
We have the Solway Firth which can be enjoyed from either the Scottish or English side.

Local Facilities
Local facilities include our own marked farm trail, horse-riding, sailing and boating on Talkin Tarn, golf and swimming at either Brampton or Carlisle, quiet country lanes for walking, or if preferred strenuous hill walking.

To visit, garden centres, pottery, Lanercost Priory and ample facilities for dining out.

South: Leave M6 at junction 43. Take the A69 to Brampton then A6071 Longtown road for two miles, after bridge with traffic lights turn right to sign posted Walton-Roadhead. At Kirkcambeck over the bridge then see B&B sign. Turn left Carcrop is one mile on the right.

North: At Longtown take the A6701 towards Brampton (see above)

North-East: Leave the A69 at Greenhead. Take the B6318 through Gilsland at the T junction turn right over the river then left, we are one mile off this road at Kircambeck.
